GLOBAL PROBLEM OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

GLOBAL PROBLEM OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

In the last few months, the topic of illegal immigration has been a big issue with lawmakers and the people in world. Generally speaking, illegal immigrants are just people trying to better their lives. They are fleeing oppression, chronic unemployment, poverty and little or no opportunities in their homelands, tyranny of their rulers and terrorism and wars. Police brutalities, and corrupt burocracy and hunger. However, in the process, they face some tough issues regarding immigration and the rule of law. These people are exploited in the process by unscrupulous officers, leaders, travel agents and corrupt govt. employees, communism is one of the reasons.

Illegal immigrants in the
U.S. come north from Mexico in order to supply thousands of U.S. employers and farmers with low-skilled laborers. Besides US European countries and Australia face the same problem. India face the problem of Bangladeshi refugees .

Pros Of Illegal Immigration:
1. It helps keep the economy moving by filling low-wage jobs.
2. It provides a better lifestyle for those who enter the country illegally.
3. It creates a pool of consumers for a variety of goods and services.
4. Farmers are able to plant and harvest less expensively.
5. Contributions to social security funds often go unclaimed.
6. Illegal immigrants pay sales taxes.
7. Illegal residents, who are property owners, also pay real estate taxes.
8. Millions of illegal rent properties in depressed areas where renters are hard to find.
9. They purchase real estate and generate commissions for agents and brokers.
10. Illegal immigrants contribute to mortgage loan profits.
11. They open bank accounts that yield interest and dividends to bankers.
12. Many purchase auto insurance and contribute to insurers profits margins.
13. They contribute in development of the countries they migrate to
14. They provide cheep labors.
15. Some times they become vote banks and politicians take their advantage.
Cons Of Illegal Immigration:
1. Burden on tax-based resources, costing taxpayers billions of dollars.
2. Difficult prosecution and justice when perpetrators flee the country.
3. Disparity between legal immigrants who follow the rules and those who don't.
4. They risk death when traveling the desert to reach the borders.
5. Those who successfully cross the border inspire those left behind to do the same.
6. Continued growth of the demand for cheap labor and low wages.
7. No government reimbursement to offset states' illegal alien maintenance costs.
8. Potential negative effects on working and middle-class citizens.
9. Illegal money transactions
10. Mortgage loan fraud
11. Fake document mills
12. Imbalance in authorized immigration quotas
13.It gives chance to human traffickers, who take advantage of their situation and cheat them of huge amounts of money .some times make them boat people, leaving them on mercy of god.
14. some of these people take part in criminal activities and drugs and prostitution.
15. Govts.infiltrate spies and agents in other countries.

We live in very difficult times. Americans and people from other countries are feeling the pains pressures caused by unemployment, homelessness, poverty, and hopelessness, lack of education, low-paying jobs, stress and hunger. Should people from south of the border be blamed and criminalized in the courts of public opinion for trying to have a better life?
Illegal immigration is a complex issue but it is not an unsolvable problem. In my view, We'd be off to a good start if the government imposed hefty fines on employers who use illegal labor. The money collected should then be applied to implement efficient border security and law enforcement. As far as a fast track to U.S and European and Australian citizenship, I think that is wrong unless all other immigrants who have been patiently waiting, inside and outside the
United States, are granted the same privilege.
At the end of the day, everyone is just another person trying to do the best he or she can to have a better life. Compassion and justice intermix, which brings me to the thrust of this article: considering illegal immigration pros and cons, does the end justify the means for the person who knowingly enters the country illegally? Should compassion outweigh legal justice?

BHOPAL GAS TRAGEDY OF 2/12/1984 JUSTICE NOT ONLY DENIED BUT MADE MOCKERY OF

December 2 / 1984. Saw biggest industrial disaster of the world. It is a black date in our history. As it is evident that more then 15000 people and several thousand animals died, several hundred thousand suffered gas effect and are still suffering. Both the state and central govts were shy in admitting numbers of casualty. The state govt. failed in its duty no body knew what is cooking in their back yard. Hospitals were not informed of any ante dotes in case of any accident or gas leakage, what were the concerned departments doing. No proper inspection was done. Why no action was taken against the chief minister whose govt. failed in its duty .Minister responsible for commerce or companies affair was also equally responsible Officers posted in Bhopal at the time of gas leak and other officers may be prosecuted, strong action may be taken against them it is not too late.
In this case every department failed to do their duty, no proper examination was conducted by joint teams of scientists and company officials. Criminal negligence was done by both the govt.as well as Indian and US management of the company. Why politicians and officials got away Scot free. Very little sentence was given to UCIL officials.
Every thing is shrouded in misery; every thing is secret on one pretext or the other.
Very small amount was paid to the victims, it is said that only interest was paid and the original amount is still with the govt .people were fooled and many agents exploited the poor, red tape took its share. See the reaction on the judgment given in this case in following paras.
“It would be extraordinary for some thing like this to happen in the US. There is firm conviction here that justice delayed is justice denied. Regardless of the merits of any decision you have to decide it quickly enough so that the decision has consequences” said Professor Douglos Baired of the University of Chicago, Law School.
Kith Tyrell of Pesticide Action Network, UK said “Criminal negligence is always difficult to prove but I find it unbelievable that it has taken more than 25 years, it’s a scandal. It would not happen in UK.Management in US has got away Scot free. Can’t imagine that would happen in the UK.
Mark Senant of Industrial Risk Campaign, France Nature Environment said “It was a great shock for us to hear that for biggest industrial disaster in history ever, the conclusion of the judges was not at all matching up to the extent of damage. Neither the sentence nor the fine is adequate for the catastrophe. It’s not enough for the pain the victims and their family have suffered.”
International agencies cried foul, what the successive governments did in these 25 years? It took quarter of century to decide the matter in developed countries it was matter for months only. In this case our system of justice stands as failed with due respects to our judiciary system. Will we as victims ever get our compensation in time, many of us already gone and many will follow.
International media should come forward to press the governments, no body with money and power in the world could make mockery of the laws of the land.

CORRUPT SUPER BABUS OF INDIA

Hats off to the honest, men and women of our country. They do an excellent job of successfully taking our country safely ahead, defending and running it. Now we must come to the point that when ever we open a newspaper or TV news channel there is news of corrupt babus and politicians. Corruption has become like cancer and is spreading badly pulling us behind, not only is the government machinery corrupt but people of all walks of life are involved in corrupt practices of one kind or the other.
Daily ghotalas (scandals) of one kind or the other are exposed, where babu +politician nexus is exposed. Super babus have license to do any thing. They know that govt. will not give permission for any action against them, or they can go to court where there are already millions of cases pending against them which emboldens them, as we have seen in several cases where justice was delayed.
Corruption is not only limited to babus and politicians but most of us citizens- businessman, doctors, lawyers, builders, transporters; common people are involved in this. Whereas some of us do not pay taxes, some pay less. We grab land by simply extending our boundary wall and some of us even use devices to cheat the electric meter or take extra water and gas connection.
Why, even taking permission to open a college, school, factory or any other business take much, more time, money and energy in our country then developed countries. There is lot of red tape to deal with. That is why single window system can not work here.
Bigger the people are, the more corrupt he/she becomes. Latest news tells us that the common man/woman is less corrupt. Why can’t we make new rules and regulations and amend the older ones to streamline the system. Committee of experts from all walks life should be formed to take strong actions and put a clean up operation in motion and to give an anti-cancer treatment to the system. Time has come to review the systems of IAS, IPS, and IFS, and see how other countries go about their daily business and how their machinery works smoothly.
How are we going to become numero uno, in the world? Our leaders are top class, they should take concrete action, there shouldn’t be any ghotalas and one mustn’t even think in one’s whole life to do any.

IPL DRAMA

IPL has been a grand success and entertained us both ways as game of cricket and its drama of accusing each other. IPL has been running for three years successively now. Everybody took advantage of it one way or the other. Now suddenly everybody smells rat politicians who could not take any part, businessmen who could not get franchise and govt. agencies who were silent (probably got their share) became active and the media plays double role first they sing songs in favor and then take their pound of flash, become judge and executioner, there is a crowd of experts to give their comments. Some politicians criticize others while their own ministers are involved in corruption in the states ruled by them.
What were the govt. agencies doing? Every agency has its intelligence wing were they waiting for right time or ordered to take action to settle or set right some thing.
Now the time has come and the highest power of our nation should take strong action find the guilty and punish them, investigate every angle and do not spare how big the guy may be.BCCI should be dissolved and fresh body should be elected , keep away the politicians. A committee should look after the IPL and every thing should be crystal clear only then country will get its lost prestige and revenue.
Millions of us watch and love cricket and love to watch and win our players. When ever there are matches and our team or teams are playing we are glued to the TV. Some of the players are our heroes and our youth copy them, they are idols. Some players are respected internationally and bring good name to the country. So the game of cricket should not be politicized .Committees of respected personalities of sports should look after games we must see how other countries are developing their sports.
We should come back to IPL no doubt that 2010 IPL is also concluded successfully, without any incident. Thanks to Mr. Modi  world saw that we handled every thing professionally, this bring our name to repute and shows the world that we are capable to do any thing. There are lots of allegations on Mr. Modi as said above a thorough probe is need of the hour.

SPORTS AND ITS POOR STATE IN INDIA

Government of India (sports authority of India) has opened many institutions, facilities and programmes to promote sports in India. List of sports practiced in India is very long almost all the games and sports of the world are played here, there are coaching facilities, coaches and training is done. Required infrastructure is there.
But why is India one of the countries who won very few Olympic medals despite a population exceeding a billion? Around half of them fit to play all types of games. Numerous explanations have been offered for the DEARTH of sports in India.  Poverty, malnutrition, neglected infrastructure, the lack of sponsorship, the miss use of money and equipment, political corruption and political neglect, social causes, institutional disorganization, social immobility, the predominance of cricket and other cultural factors.
According to statistics (although not authentic ones), India is the country in the world with the lowest number of total medals won. There is media news about hockey both male and female and Mr. Abhinav Bindra, Who are these bosses of sports, who are careless or insensitive towards players, will these news not discourage other sports persons; weightlifting has disgraced us by dope test failure cases. Some of the persons demanding proper coaches and modern facilities, rifles were sold for profit, what is happening?
Thanks to some of the papers and state govt. who have come forward to help the players. Some concrete majors and tough decisions have to be taken to improve the STATE OF SPORTS.
